If there is one thing that is even better than a cool and refreshing icy slush drink on a warm summer’s day, from an adult’s point of view, then it has to be a grown up, cocktail flavoured slushy drink. Chilly Drinks have their own selection available, which is appropriately named as “Summer Cocktail” Slush Syrup and features 6 different flavours to suit even the most discerning of palettes.
It is no secret that you can use slush machines to make grown up iced drinks a well as kids beverages. In fact, a popular trend is for adults to add a measure of Vodka (this is normally the alcohol of choice as it mixes well with virtually any flavour of slush syrup and other types of drinks) to their slushy mixture to give it a bit of an extra kick. Chilly Drinks take this one step further, however, and have introduced syrups with cocktail flavours that will make your crushed iced drinks taste even more special.

Now cover the pan and leave the tea bags to steep for around 30 minutes.
When the time is up, remove the tea bags and add the sugar, before returning the saucepan back to boil using a medium high heat and after you let it boil for 1 minute, pour the sweet tea mixture into fridge-friendly container with an air tight lid and leave it in the fridge for at least 4 hours, until it is completely cool.
Add the bourbon to the sweet tea and stir to combine it all together before pouring the cooled mixture into an ice cube tray. Avoid overfilling it, because it will spill onto the floor when you try to move it into your freezer. Leave it in the freezer for at least 6 hours, to ensure that it is completely frozen over.

Elderflower And White Nectarine Boozy Slushy
One of the reasons we love this slushy cocktail and just about any cocktail that utilises the flavour of elderflower is because you get that floral taste without it being too flowery. This is why we feel it works so well with nectarines for a truly spectacular summer drink.
- 6 small white nectarines or 3 large nectarines
- ¼ to 1/3 cup of simple syrup
- 1/3 cup of Elderflower concentrate
- ½ cup of gin
- 2 to 3 cups of ice cubes
- Fresh mint to garnish
Cut across the into all of the nectarines and then put them into boiling water for no more than 30 seconds before taking them out again and using an ice bath to cool them down quickly. This helps to get rid of the skin easily and completely so that the drink keeps it’s pale peachy colour.
While they are cooling down, pour the simple syrup, elderflower cordial and gin into a big jug . Then peel the skin off the nectarines, cut off all the flesh and add it to the jug.
Blend the ingredients together until all of the flesh of the nectarine is smooth and you can’t see any lumps in the mixture. Now add the mixture and the ice to your slush machine or blender and mix until the ice is smooth and there are no big pieces you could crunch on.
Now pour the drink into some pre-chilled glasses and garnish with some fresh mint and you are done! A dangerously drinkable, but light and refreshing cocktail for the summer.

Kahlua And Baileys Coffee Slushy
We should warn you that this is probably the most time consuming recipe on this page…but utterly worth it. You have to exercise some patience when making this drink, is what we are saying. If you want a truly amazing boozy iced coffee drink, this is the recipe for you.
- 4 oz of Kahlua
- 4 cups of good very strong coffee
- 4 oz of Baileys Irish Cream (or your own favoured brand)
- 1 Vanilla bean
- 2 cups of Half and Half Cream (or your own preferred milk)
Start by making your very strong coffee and then set that aside in a large glass jug or container to cool down. The size matters, as it is better if the coffee cools in a thin layer because it will freeze much quicker that way. Next, add the cream to a freezer-proof container (glass is a good choice). Scrape the insides out of your vanilla bean and then add that to your cream. Mix this up thoroughly with a whisk until the vanilla starts to break apart.
Now, add the Baileys and stir. Add the Kahlua to the coffee and stir that and then put both containers into your freezer and set your watch or a kitchen timer to 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes have passed, remove both containers from the freezer and scrape at them with a fork or move them around in another way. Now return both containers to the freezer and set your watch or kitchen timer to another 45 minutes. Keep repeating this process until both mixtures are properly slushy and when it is just right, add the coffee slushy to a glass first and top with the cream slushy and enjoy the best frappacino you will ever try.

Tropical Pineapple Peach Slushy
In this boozy tropical treat of a slushy, the Malibu helps to transport you away to another place and time. Handy tip – slice the pineapple and peaches in advance and keep them in a zip lock or plastic lidded container in the freezer. This means that when you come to making the drinks, you are using frozen fruit and therefore don’t need ice.
Serves 2 large drinks
- 2 shots of Peach Schnapps (or your preferred peach liqueur)
- 2 shots of pineapple vodka (or standard vodka or your preferred flavoured vodka can be used instead)
- 2 shots of Malibu
- 1 ½ cups of pineapple, diced and frozen
- 1 ½ cups of peaches, diced and frozen
- Maraschino cherries, to garnish (optional)
- Grenadine, to drizzle (optional
To either the canister of a food processor, blender or your slushy machine add the fruit and alcohol and blend on a high speed until it is smooth, for approximately 1 minute or use the slushy machine as directed by the manufacturers directions.

Bloody Mary Slushy
This is a truly unique take on a spicy tangy Bloody Mary.
- ½ tspn of celery salt (buy it pre-mixed or mix your own using a ratio of half salt, half celery seeds
- ½ tspn of horseradish
- 1 tspn of Worcestershire Sauce
- ½ lime, freshly juiced
- 2 oz of vodka (Use a jalapeño-infused vodka if you can get it to add an extra kick)
- ½ cup of tomato juice (use a good quality tomato juice or your favourite brand, if you have one)
- 1 vine-ripened tomato, cut into wedges
- Freshly ground pepper
- Hot sauce, to taste
Start by cutting the tomato into around 6 to 8 wedges and then half each wedge down the middle. Freeze the tomato wedges for approximately 4 hours and then put the glasses you are going to use into the freezer too. After 4 hours, purée all the ingredients in a blender or your slushy machine (remembering to follow the instructions) until you have a smooth slushy mixture.
You can salt the rim of your glasses, by pouring a little grounded seat salt, pepper and celery seed (as is your preference) into a small and very flat plate. Then take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of your glasses, before dipping the rim of the glasses into the salty mixture. As the drink already has a high salt content, salting the rim is obviously completely optional. Pour your Bloody Mary slushies into your chilled glasses and garnish as you see fit.
Sit back and savour the wondrous tastes dancing on the tips of your tongue as you sink back. Be careful though, because these drinks can be very addictive!
We hope this list of slushy cocktails helps to show you, even if you try only a few or experiment further with the ingredients yourself, that anything really is possible when it comes to making boozy, adult slushies. Also, don’t feel like you should not have these kinds of drinks in any other season than summer. A nice decadent and iced treat can work just as well if you are cuddled up in front of a warm and cosy fire on a cold winter’s evening.
